The Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships (CF) is a Pontifical Association of Christ’s Faithful, serving member Communities arising from the Catholic church in the current of grace of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal - present in over 220 countries worldwide. One of its specific services is to link these Communities to the Bishop of Rome, through the CF ’s close relationship with the Pontifical Council for Laity.
To facilitate this link, the CF has an office in the Vatican, shared with ICCRS, the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, the other body serving the Renewal around the world. The recent decision to share the office is testimony of the common belonging to the same current of grace, maintaining each identity and sharing some common action. As an office of the CF, it is the “house in Rome" for the Communities, a reference place and visibility of the Communities to the Vatican and other ecclesial realities.
The CF does not pretend to be a superstructure or to intervene in the spiritual life of member Communities, but to provide them with the service that they request. This service includes participation in the Church’s evangelizing and missionary life, serving as a link between Communities and the Pontifical Council for Laity in the programs they present and organize.
As a service, the CF also puts in contact member Communities with other Communites, Associations and ecclesial Movements.
So, the identity of the CF is to serve their member Communities.
At the same time, the CF convenes twice a year, an Executive and Council meeting to listen to the Communities’s voice, to know their needs, share their progress and also their difficulties and the ways that they solved them. These sharing meetings help to strengthen ties between Communities and enriches them, at the same time they allow the CF to give them a better service.
